Description
The site is located on land north of Hackers Close, northwest of Kneeton Road, lying on the western edge of East Bridgford.
The site measures approximately c.2034m² off Hackers Close, which lies to the southwest and comprises a roughly rectangular area of rough green space and scrub. A builders yard lies to the southeast and east, with residential gardens to the north and a copse of woodland to the west.
Fieldwork comprised the monitoring of all groundworks. ll excavation works were monitored by an experienced Past to Present Archaeologist, with the ability to stop and fully record archaeological features, were any to be found.
The foundation trenches and soakaway pits revealed little archaeological evidence at the depth at which construction works will be taking place. The entire site is shown to consist heavily of natural alluvium deposits with no archaeology within them, indicating that the development of dwellings on Hackers Close have not impacted on the deposits. No artefacts of any significance were identified or retained.
