Description
The Site is located on land lying between Platt Lane and Station Road on the northern edge of the village of Keyworth, which sits approximately equidistant between Nottingham and Melton Mowbray.
The evaluation comprised 31 trial trenches representing c. 3 % of the site. The majority of the trenches were archaeologically blank; a total of 11 features were recorded, with most found in the area of the probable farmstead.
The results of the evaluation trenching were largely negative. Apart from one undated pit or ditch terminal in one evaluation trench, the majority of the remains lay within the area of archaeological interest previously identified by the geophysical survey.
