Description

The site lies on the Holme Pierrepont terrace 1.3km east of the River Trent. It is approximately rectangular 260m x 40m orientated north west – south east. Twenty-four locations were provided by Cotswold Archaeology for the auger holes. The Made Ground is assessed as having no archaeological nor palaeoenvironmental potential. The Made Ground is believed to have truncated at least some of the Holocene deposits, whether truncation of the Pleistocene strata has occurred was not determined.
