The site is located to the immediate south west of Main Street, where it forms a rectangular plot of undulating pasture that gently rises from 44.00m OD from the north east to 38.00m OD to the south west. The methodology required that all significant ground reduction, footings and service runs were to be archaeologically monitored. This involved monitoring the access route in, the area for the new timber stable buildings and the ménage area. The features found most likely represent Roman field boundaries and are possibly associated with the Roman Villa believed to be located somewhere in the immediate locale.
