Description

The Site was located on the northern side of Fox Covert Lane. It was confined by domestic housing to the west, farm buildings to its east and with farmland to its north. A total of eight archaeological trial trenches were excavated by a 360° mechanical excavator equipped with a 1.8m wide toothless ditching bucket. Seven trenches measured 50m x 1.8m, whilst the last trench measured 30m x 1.8m. The archaeological features detected during the investigation were limited to six agricultural ridge and furrow ditches and an undated curvilinear ditch and gully, likely associated with farming activity.
