Description

A geophysical survey was undertaken in Septmber 2016 to improve understanding of archaeological activity on the site. Instrument: Bartington grad 601-2 Grid size: 20m x 20m Sample interval: 0.25m Traverse interval: 1.0m Traverse method: Zigzag The survey has identified the remains of a number of circular anomalies. It is likely that these represent traces of late Iron Age occupation. It should be noted however that the results and interpretation should not be treated as an absolute representation of underlying archaeology. To prove the archaeological nature of the anomalies will require intrusive methods such as by trial excavation.
