Description
The proposed development site is located to the north east of Goldcrest Lane, off Cavendish Way in Clipstone.
The gradiometer survey was carried out using Bartington Grad601-2 fluxgate gradiometers. Data was collected on an east-west alignment using zig-zag traverses, with a sample interval of 0.25m and a traverse interval of 1m. A total of 12 full or partial 30m by 30m grids were surveyed within the specified area, totalling an area of approximately 0.59 Ha.
Four known fissures / break lines are visible in the gradiometer survey results. The features are seen as areas of highly magnetic material, which is most likely a reflection of a concrete covering treatment indicated by GRM in a treatment summary letter.
Further trends have been identified in both the magnetometer and earth resistance survey which indicate the presence of features. These features could relate to further fissures, however they could also reflect the presence of field drains, small services, changes in the local geology or tree roots.
Further investigation would be required to definitively confirm the location and character of the fissures
