Description
In October/November 2007, a field walkover survey of land to the north of Cottam, Nottinghamshire was undertaken.
The Field Walkover and Desktop Assessment have highlighted the presence of a range of archaeological features and finds in and around the area of proposed development dating primarily to the Roman, Medieval and Post Medieval periods with residual prehistoric material also present.
Three early Neolithic finds were made during the field walkover.
Whilst the field walkover produced finds from the area of one turbine, it should be noted that material of unknown date, i.e. pottery, tile and other ceramic building material was scattered over the locations of all of the turbines and access tracks.
