Description

The site is located to the northwest of Hawksworth Road, Scarrington, in the Rushcliffe Borough of Nottinghamshire. The site comprised an area of 0.1ha with dilapidated barns and a cart shed demolished prior to work commencing. The scheme of archaeological works required the monitoring of all ground disturbances associated with the erection of a single storey garage/storage building and single storey glasshouse with attached storage building and associated landscaping works. Only the foundations of the buildings penetrated through the topsoil. The archaeological monitoring and recording did not recover any artefacts or identify any archaeological deposits of significance, recording only a deep topsoil over the natural geology.
