Abstract/Summary

Monitoring and recording of groundworks associated with storage buildings at land off Main Street, Scarrington, Nottinghamshire, was conducted as a condition of planning consent. Prehistoric, Iron Age/Roman and Anglo-Saxon activity is known within the vicinity of the site. Scarrington, is recorded in in the Domesday Book of 1086. The shrunken medieval village of Scarrington lies to the southwest and the Church of St John of Beverley to the south of the site. The archaeological monitoring and recording did not recover any artefacts or identify any archaeological deposits of significance.
