Description

Excavations were carried out during the summer at short notice. At the time of writing 6 enclosures of IA and Ro date have been planned and partly excavated. Another two or three enclosures with their associated field system are currently being investigated. All the site which has been excavated has been destroyed by gravel quarrying. The site was discovered partly by aerial photography and partly when the overburden was stripped by the quarry. (1) It is unclear from this short report whether the excavations referred to were just at L1182, or if they also include L1180 and L1181. No plans or grid refs are included by (1), but the areas excavated are shown in (2). (3) See E 8190, E8191 for nearby excavations, possibly covered by (1).
