Full Description

There is a mixture of fabrics amongst the sherds (recovered during fieldwalking), which mostly represent jugs rather than cooking vessels. The use of a dirty clay in some sherds suggests a C14 or later date or source outside Nottingham, sherds with white slip under the glaze and high proportion of rod handles at the expense of strap handles also suggests non-Nottingham sources. There are sherds of Midland Purple present. (1)
See L11108 for quern fragment from this field, L11122 for flints, L11149 for Ro pottery, L11184 for fire-cracked pebbles. See L8344, L8345 for cropmarks.
