Full Description

23 struck pieces from fieldwalking, but concentrated on a ridge in the alluvium (grid reference centred on this ridge). The large discoidal core and larger size of the flakes indicates a neolithic scatter. The abrupt change in artefact density at the interface between the gravel and alluvium may indicate that alluviation has sealed features containing flintwork, these deposits could be exceptionally well preserved. See L11207, L11218 for nearby Neo/BA flints, L11214 for Ro/Med pottery from this field.
