Full Description

The mains drainage trench was dug across Millgate … at about 1.2m below the present road surface a dark band of gravel c.1.75m long and dipping to the W may have been an earlier road surface. Below this was 0.65m of made up ground consisting of bands of soil and gravel above natural yellow gravel. (1)
