Full Description

A 0.1m thick band of gravel, separated from a lower 0.23m thick band of similar material by 0.26m of brown loam. An interpretation is that both gravel deposits had been introduced as road metalling during the medieval or post medieval period and that Upper Row had not become metalled until some time later than the road leading from the village.
