Full Description

Trench for water main. To the NE of All Saint's Church modern road layers overlay a layer of pebbles and gravel at least 0.2m thick. This layer was probably a post med or med road surface. (A short distance to W) the buried topsoil was was covered by numerous deposits of soil and sandy gravel which had been tipped from the W, suggesting a causeway was created. (1)
