Full Description

Evaluation trenches in land adjacent to East Leake Quarry. Evidence for P Med agriculture in the form of the remains of plough scars were located within Trenches 4, 5 and 6. Quantities of modern glass, ceramic building material and metalwork were recovered from four deposits. Only modern pottery types were present, dating to C19 and C20. The ceramic building material consists of handmade bricks and tile fragments, also consistent with C18 to C19 dating. (1)
See L11917 for P Med pit, L11919 for flints, M20 for site of church.
