Full Description

Amongst a miscellany of other pits scattered thinly across the terrace, a few contained prehistoric artefacts. … one pit had flint flakes and sherds of handmade pot through the fill. … another pit had distinctive fill containing numerous heat cracked pebbles that calls to mind the kind of pit often found at the heart of a prehistoric burnt mound complex. … To the W of the pipeline, a small pit yielded a fragment of Neolithic stone adze. … post holes, could not be dated. Nearby pits, one contained fragments of pottery and clay weight appropriate to early part of 1st millenium BC. (1)
