Full Description
Fieldwalking, Area A. 73 flints, concentrated along the visible sand ridge. 7 tools, 2 utilised pieces and cores, core rejuvenation flakes, flakes and blades. Few chronologically discreet pieces, the poor nature of much of the raw material further complicated the results. The relatively high blade component indicative of Mesolithic or Neolithic date, scrapers included forms more prevalent in later Mesolithic and Neolithic assemblages. BA material was present but probably in a lower proportion. … Density fell well below the distribution density expected regionally and it was possible that sealed assemblages of multiple periods were likely to exist within the area.
