Full Description

Fieldwalking. Surprisingly little flint was recovered along the ridge where it might have been predicted. 12 pieces of struck flint, all but two from within the scatter of later artefacts. Blade fragments together with small single platform blade core are all suggestive of Mesolithic activity. There is also a single, large flake removing the cortex from a nodule. (1)
See L12009 for post medieval gunflint (one of the 12 pieces mentioned above), L12008 for RB pottery and cross refs.
