Full Description

Trench 1 - Beneath a layer of clay, a number of small slots and irregular pits bounded to the S by three adjacent parallel gullies. Some animal bone was recovered from each gully, as well as the remains of a horse skull and one sherd of undiagnostic greyware. Two shallow irregular gullies orientated E-W across the trench contained animal bones and a piece of undatable worked flint. An additional four potential pits and three post holes were identified, all probably severely truncated. (1)
