Description
A series of nine trenches was excavated, the location and dimensions of which were located to evaluate specific anomalies of potential archaeological significance indicated by cropmarks identified on aerial photographs. The trenches also targeted blank areas within the study area to confirm the actual extent of the archaeology. The trenches amounted to a total of 932m in length with each trench being nominally 2m wide. (1)
NB 10 trenches are shown, but Trench 10 is not mentioned.
See E9504 for geophysical survey.
