Full Description

Three trenches, perpendicular to the line of the suggested Roman road. Two undated ditches were traced in all three trenches along the SE side of the Roman road line; each following a roughly NE / SW alignment. The most W cut through deposits overlying the agger. They appear to have been stratigraphically late in the sequence and were cut from the base of the topsoil. (1)
See L12212 for agger and cross references.
