Full Description

(Excavation for the addition of an external wall) revealed a compact layer containing tile and brick fragments which had been crushed. Amongst this material, occasional fragments of pottery dating from C19 - C20 were recorded. This layer was located in the S end of Trench A and in the W end of Trench B. It would appear to be a floor, possibly an earlier yard surface. (1)
