Full Description

Removal of topsoil near the well revealed no evidence of associated buildings, but finds of a millstone grit quern fragment, a concentration of grain, and a dark patch resembling a beam slot at above NGR suggested the site of a corn dryer. Ro sherds ... were also found (rim of a hammerhead mortarium, rim and body sherds of another C3 vessel, and surface finds of Derbys and grey ware sherds). (1) (2)
