Full Description
Mee calls church St Wilfrid. Med church rebuilt in 1900. It retains the highly remarkable Babington Chantry of c.1547 and some parts of the outer walling of the chapel rebuilt. (1)
St Wilfrid [sic]. The nave, N aisle and tower are … of 1900 by R. Creed. The chancel (with Early English sedilia) and chancel aisle are dated by an inscription, AB Anno Dei 1538 BF, i.e. about contemporary with … the Babington Chantry of c.1540. (2)
Kingston-on-Soar … [An] extension … is being made to the church by Lord Belper. The church itself is a specimen of the latest Gothic architecture in the county. (3)
