Full Description

Coal mine. All the buildings have been demolished, only parts of old masonry left. One remnant consists of a wall, made of red brick, c 80ft long and 6ft high. The only other remnant is part of a red brick building, situated in a waterlogged clay pit. The wreck is 4ft long and 5ft high. The ends of the wall are not uniform and bricks project outwards extremely haphazardly. Also extending from the sides and running through brick are 3 rusty iron rods. Over the rest of the colliery are heaps of rubble, and mounds of dirt and slag. (11/07/1968) (1)
