Full Description

On the S side of Derby Road at Broad Oak Drive is a 2 storey office building, all that remains of a large lace factory dating from the last quarter of C19. This building is very decorative for lace premises as was the demolished factory itself. The main brickwork is red with stone dressings to doors and windows with a stone stringer course at 1st floor sill level. There are also blue brick stringer courses. The eaves are very elaborate in cream brickwork with inset glazed tiles. The windows have segmental heads with one-piece stone lintels. The main doorway to the W is embellished with stone columns either side and has a stone semi-circular head. (1) (3)
