Full Description
Attenborough. Preliminary excavations immediately NE of the findspot (of hoard) revealed the remains of a hearth and a burnt clay floor, with C15-C16 potsherds associated. (1)
Small scale excavation by AG MacCormick revealed a hearth in the NW corner of a building, late C15-C16. Orientation E-W, at least 17ft wide. Remains of other stone walls and foundations - badly damaged by ploughing and gardening. Any relationship between coin hoard and any structure destroyed by garden digging. (4)
