Full Description

Stone tower of 1766 with quoins and round headed windows. [N] arcade … C13. The chancel is Early English too. The tracery of the aisle windows is of very odd Decorated varieties (perhaps the fancy of the restorer in 1889-90?). Nave and N aisle with old roofs. Font … 1662. (1)
S porch ... [of] 1888. The S front has been renewed in parts again and again. Pier arcades … of the closing years of the C12th. The chancel dates from the middle of the C13th. The enlargement of the S aisle … was necessary in order to obtain a side chapel .., built toward the end of the reign of Edward I or early in the reign of Edward II [i.e. E14]. The tracery of the windows is exotic. The hand of the restorer has been laid upon [them but] the design ... is still unaltered. The N aisle was brought to equal width … [in the] late C14th. The roof … [is] a fine example of C14th carpentry. The present nave roof was put on late in the C15th when the clerestory was added. (2)
See L5631 for cross.
