Full Description

1.5Ha site on well drained, thin spread of boulder clay neighbouring River Smite. Fieldwalked 10/01/1979 and 06/03/1979 to reveal new Preh and Ro site. Assemblage dominated by early C2 and in particular late C3 and C4 AD Ro sherds. Preh material only appeared on second occasion walked as soil much more weathered. 6 late BA/early IA? Sherds; 22 mid to late IA sherds; 14 C1 AD Ro sherds, 331 Ro sherds (grey wares, Nene Valley colour coat and samian). (1)
