Full Description

Found during gravel work (exact findspot unknown) bronze spearhead with end of shaft in situ (late BA) and bronze sword blade, broken in two. (1)
2 BA weapons: leaf shaped sword blade in 2 pieces; basal looped spearhead with remains of wooden shaft. Found in a gravel pit at Hoveringham c 1956. They are now in the possession of Mrs PB Revill. (2)
Spearhead, class IIIa, Ind Phase VII-Taunton, MBA. Bent with cracks, part of the shaft of ash is preserved. Length c 368mm, max blade width 52mm, socket width 26mm. Sword, Ewart Park type, Ind Phase X-Ewart Park, LBA. In two pieces, with a patchy dark brown patina with corrosion products and patches of bronze disease along both sides. Length 507mm, max blade width 42mm, weight 649g. (5)
