Bentinck Colliery. (1)

Production commenced 1898. (2)

Closed 11/02/1994.

Site of a colliery initially sunk as a shaft mine in 1895, it operated as a drift mine from 1968 after which it produced over 1,000,000 tons of coal per annum. The colliery closed in 1993. (4)
