Full Description

Matlock Mill, 1800. Dimensions could not be established. Mill not working. All machinery and fittings removed c.1920. Rectangular limestone building. (1)
Textile mill - stone building with a slate roof, 2 storeys. Loft doors at NE end. Building 11 bays long. Originally vertical sash windows with 20 small square panes. (2)

Built during the 1790s as the datestone is 1800 JS. Another of the Duke of Portland's mills. It is a two storey building with slate roof and eleven bays long. The valuation map of 1856 indicates that the mill leat fed into the building centrally so the waterwheel was internal. The bypass sluice runs to the W of the building and the mill pond to the N, now gone. All machinery removed in the mid 1920s. (5)
