Tower house said to be C14/15 but apparently earlier. Probably C13. Tall narrow rubble building. 2 storeys and basement. Interior ... has remains of early timber floors and roof. (1)
Halloughton was a prebend of Southwell Collegiate church, and Manor Farm was the prebendal house. The only other example of a tower house in Notts is Beauvale Priory. Restoration work was carried out in 1965. The single storey building … against the NW wall of the tower is modern. (2)
A prebendal house ... incorporating a medieval tower house. The earliest fabric seems to be C13, but to the important first floor there is a two-light C14 window. Addition between 1580 and 1630 of a hall with chamber over it on the SW side. In the later (c.1790?) brick facing, some portions of the timber-framed 2½ bay hall. (3)
