Full Description

Large squarish enclosure with one side double, and 2 circles within. Trapezoidal enclosure to W. Linear features. Small sub-triangular enclosure. Possible circle. (1) (2) (3)
On arable land bordered on the SE by the River Trent. The large enclosure with the internal circles is on a slight natural elevation. Apart from the most E field which is beet, the land is all corn stubble, freshly muck spread. IA/Ro ? - nothing found to substantiate this. (4)
Morph: 188.6.1 field boundary, 188.6.6 enclosure, 188.9.1 enclosure. (5)
The northern enclosure lies on relatively high ground. The evidence of fresh patches of subsoil on the surface and the recovery of hand made sherds, together with the absence of RB pottery from within / around this enclosure, suggest occupation in the first millenium which did not continue into the RB period. (6)
