Full Description

Rayton in Scofton listed under villages now lost, but linked with another village in 1334 tax list. (1)
An inspection of APs and an examination of fields around Rayton showed no traces of a DMV. The present Rayton Farm is deserted. The land belongs to Osberton Hall. The manager knows nothing of the village site, and Major Foljambe of Osberton Hall was away at the time of the visit. (2)
