Full Description
Cropwell Butler possessed a chapel long since destroyed. (1)
There are references to the church or chapel at Cropwell Butler from shortly after DB until c 1650. It was not extant in Thoroton's day (late C17) and early C19 directories state that there were no traces of the chapel. Pre reformation wills indicate that it was dedicated to St Nicholas. (2)
