Christian burials above the pavement were probably connected with the adjacent church. (1) (2)
Excavations for foundations of an extension at Southwell Grammar School in 1971 in the area of the 1959 excavations revealed a large number of interments, showing that the churchyard extended much further to the S. A bronze buckle possibly of Med date was associated with one burial. (3)

Excavations at Minster Chambers - by C15 this part of the graveyard had been partitioned from the rest of the Minster churchyard to form the grounds of the chantry priest's house. The graveyard did not extend into trench two, c 20m away, beside the street. (5) (6) (7)
Approximately 20 individuals were discovered. These comprised infants and adults, with both sexes represented. From the orientation of the skeletons it would appear that at least three phases of burial may be present. (8)
