Full Description

Syerston Hall … The dovecote with blank arcades outside … betray[s] a professional hand, that of Mr. Griffiths. (1)
Mr. Griffiths plan[ned the] … dovecote … 1801. (2)
Dovecote at Syerston Hall, at rear of house. Square brick structure built in 1702. External dimensions 16 ft by 16 ft. Wood nest holes with only 12 left in 1927. Upper of two storeys. Converted in early 1990s into residence. (3)
Square plan…red brick with slate roof. Each elevation is of 2 bays with round-arched blind recessed panels joined by a continuous impost band. A glazed lantern is placed centrally in the roof. Converted for residential use, requiring alterations including the insertion of windows. (4)
