Full Description
The early C19 Mount School (C of E): the boys' school of 1826 by W. M. Fowler, chiefly a one-storey schoolroom with a stuccoed and pilastered façade, and the brick girls' school of 1838 with a staircase tower of 1877 at the back. (1)
During a watching brief (2016-2017), a Victorian brick wall foundation was uncovered, 12m long, 0.46m deep and 1m wide, running roughly north-south. This was built on a concrete and gravel base and is likely to have been associated with the old school buildings. (2)
