Mid C18 pigeoncote. Late C18 … stable block. (1)
Dovecote, at Hockerton Grange, on SW side of A617 (Newark - Mansfield). In centre of row of farm buildings. Date built 1750? Rectangular brick structure. Double pitched roof with plain tiles. External dimensions 18 ft by 16 ft. Brick dimensions approximately 9.5 in by 2.5 in. Upper of three storeys, no current use. Nest holes of mud and stud; none remain. Crow stepped gables, reed/plaster floor. Entry holes on all sides. Signatures of several German POWs on inside wall of adjoining grain store. (2)
