Full Description
Maythorne Mills … water power[ed], probably first for cotton spinning but certainly later for silk. Two mills stand end to end, one (N) three-storey, the other four-storey. (1)
Date of origin … probably the early C19. Two mills can be seen built end to end - one of three storeys, and the other of four and an attic. (2)
Named 'Maythorne Silk Mill'. (3)
Now flats. Late C18, extended early C19, converted c.1988. (4)
