Miner's cottage, now a study centre. c.1880. D. H. Lawrence lived here, 1887-1891, and the house is described in his novel "Sons and Lovers". (1)

Miner's cottage, now a study centre, circa 1880. Brick with slate roof. Chamfered plinth, dentillated first floor band and eaves. 2 grouped side wall stacks. Two storeys plus garrets. Single bay, forming gabled end of a row. DH Lawrence lived here, 1887-1891, and the house is described in his novel "Sons and Lovers". (2)
