November 2019 Survey findings: The mill is primarily constructed from a two and a half leaf thick red brick column, arch and wall structure with a timber and metal sheet roof cladding. High level semi-circular arched window openings have been closed off with brickwork infill along with some ground floor arches with blockwork infill. The majority of the roof has either been removed or has collapsed into the building with only two roof trusses and one steel wall tie beam at eaves level remaining in place. The mill has numerous plinths across the floor area which were envisaged to support the mill equipment. Grinding stones and alike remain within the footprint.
May 2023 (Drone) Survey findings: ..further collapse of the roof structure had occurred... A section of the north east elevation has also collapsed. The adjacent wall sections which remains are noted as including loose brickwork but also listing slightly inwards. A diagonal fracture was also noted within this area around where the wall section now cantilevers as a portion of the arch has collapsed. Fracturing was also noted around the arch windows which is indicative of overstressing and progression towards dislocation of the brick elements…(9)
