Full Description

Named 'Red Lodge' on (1) and (2).
Labelled 'Haybarn', 'Granary' and 'The Stables' on GIS. The alleged 'haybarn' is clearly a threshing barn. Front range of stables with lofts and a central carriage entrance. The building now labelled Red Lodge is not shown on Sanderson. (3)
The Rafters at Red Lodge Junction is a complex of barns of early and mid-C19 date and are significant for their preservation of a historic complex of agricultural buildings within a prominent local context. Construction is in handmade brick with pantile roof. The main building…running parallel to the road is joined by an earlier threshing barn at right-angles. The main building is of 2 storeys with a central cart entrance with arched head. The threshing barn is a 1/1/2 storey structure with half-hipped roof to the west. A pair of threshing doors are placed in the north and south elevations. These buildings have been converted for commercial use. (4)
