Full Description

Moated enclosure - 3 sides well preserved and the begining of a fourth, mainly lost by the construction of the Grantham Canal (1792). Adjacent to stream. Other earthworks adjoining. All surveyed 1983 by NICE team, also earthworks to E of stream around village. (1)
Med moated site - probably the site of the manor house of Luterells ("there is in Gamston a capital messuage" 1297) Probably not occupied by 1419 at the latest. Partially cut by Grantham Canal. 2 fishponds associated, one fed by Broomsby Ditch and one, roughly rectangular, fed by spring and drainage. (2)
