Full Description

In the 1890s a mineral line was built, to the N of the GNR line and with a lower embankment. The bridge (over the canal) for the mineral line was built solely out of timber with support from timber piles, which duplicated the cross timber pattern seen on the upper deck. Once the bridge had been removed, presumably after the closure of the Benningley [sic] ironworks (c 1930), parts of the timber piles were left in situ. (1)
See M2293 for nearby canal bridge, M18348 for Park Hill Bridge.
