Full Description

Field 8, A variety of earthwork features. Towards the NE of the field there are considerable signs of past disturbance, comprising various irregular mounds and hollows and a clearly defined circular terraced platform c.25m in diameter and skirted on its S side by a low bank. This feature corresponds roughly in position to the location of a known old mine shaft and the earthworks may indicate the top of the shaft and associated pit head workings. Field 9, a marked roughly circular raised area, corresponds in position with a number of old mine shafts and may be associated with past mining activity. (1)
