Full Description
Hall shown on Sanderson's map of 1835. The hall of 1765, with a 19th century garden terrace, is listed grade ll*. The boundary wall and gates, stable block and sundial are ll listed grade II. (1)
Sanderson shows just a small garden around the house, but by 1885 there was a large park stretching to the west, crossing the railway. The old road from Norwell to Carlton church ran across these fields, was diverted to a right-angled course after enclosure, and was shut when the railway was built - that is possibly when the new park was created, in spite of the intervening railway line.
